The Library is an integral part of the institution. Library plays an important role in an academic institution towards the Learning and research activities. The library also facilitates to its members for their knowledge hunger. The library works as a knowledge Resource Centre.

Tulsi College of Computer Science & I.T., Beed is run by the Devgiri Pratisthan Sanchlit, Beed. It is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad.  It is established in the year June 2006. The college Library was established with the establishment of college. The college library is located on the ground floor in the building of 136.71 Sqm. The library has sections like Main Stack Section, Technical Section, Circulation Section, e-Library Section Periodical Section and OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) etc. The users are mostly students studying UG & PG courses in various disciplines and teaching and non-teaching staff members of the institution. The library is made available with adequate infrastructure to meet its requirements.

A library advisory committee is formed by the college authority for better maintenance of the library. The committee is a very effective and efficient advisory committee. The library advisory committee discusses and finalizes the infrastructural and academic requirement of the library and the strategy regarding the working of the library affairs so that the facility can be utilized to maximum extent by staff and students. The library is open on all working days between 10.00 AM TO 5.00 PM. The library reading section which can provide seating accommodation to minimum fifty students at a time. An internet facility is available to the users of e-library. The library is extensively used by both the students and faculty. Library visiting register is maintained by both teacher and students. The books are arranged subject wise and display boards are main tended to guide the users. Textbooks, reference books and competitive examination books are all available in the library. The collection includes more than 2787 books, 12 journals and magazines, 7 newspapers and 34 back volumes of the periodicals. CCTV cameras are installed for strict surveillance in the library and its display is in the Principal cabin. The issue and return of books have been managed by library staffs. In early days the library was providing services mostly through a manual system. However, keeping in mind the present-day requirements, we have started the process of automating the services. Library is partially automated moving towards fully automation and ICT sources are provided to maximize use of library collection. There are 12 computers in e-library, all of the computer systems are having internet connectivity. The library of the college is computerized with the LIBMAN Library Management System from the Mastersoft ERP Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Students can search and reserve the books using OPAC. The barcode facility is available in the software. The books and borrower tickets are bar-coded in student id card for the fastening issuance of books. The status of the book can be seen using the OPAC. Books are classified according to Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme and catalogued according to AACR II. The college library is a member of NLIST Program of the UGC-INFLIBNET Centre for the purpose of accessing the electronic resources. Under the program, we have access to more than 6,000+ e-Journals and 1,99,536 e-Books through a login username and password given to the staff and students.

Objectives of the Library

To collect, disseminate and preserve information in the form of books and other resource materials for academic, research and intellectual development of the students and teachers

  1. The students entering the Library must register their names in the Register.
  2. All readers must keep their bags and books at the Library Property Counter
  3. Strict Silence and decorum must be observed in the Library.
  4. The Students required to use all the magazines and Journals in the Library with care.
  5. Dictionaries, Reference Books will not be lent out.
  6. No dues certificates to be obtained after returning all the books / Periodicals, user tickets and outstanding dues if any

Rules for Lending (Borrowing & Circulation) of books:

Every student using the Library shall be given one “Borrower’s ticket” bearing his roll number, Name and Class. Books are usually lent for a period of two weeks and may be renewed two times. PG Students may take two books and UG students can avail 1 books. Malpractice using the borrower’s ticket not allowed.

  1. Books should be returned on or before the due date. A fine of Rs. 1 per day will be collected as penalty if the book is not returned on time.
  2. All students are expected to use the books with care, all marking, underlining or annotation on book whether already soiled or not is forbidden. Every book will be examined as soon as it is returned and if any book is found to have been marked, soiled or damaged will entail payment of the cost of the books as fine besides the replacement of the damaged books in the Library.
  3. Loss of ticket must at once bring the matter to the Librarian. Duplicate ticket will be issued after the payment of fine. Students must return their ticket at the end of the course or at the time of leaving the college whichever is earlier or pay the fine for the lost ticket and be responsible for the books that may be borrowed on them.

  • Working hours of the Library is from 10.00 am to 05.00 pm on all working days of the college.
Library remain closed on Sunday and Govt. Holiday

GENERAL RULES

  8. The books are provided to the teaching &non-teaching staff as per fixed quota of the books, within a month they have to return the books.
  9. No dues certificates to be obtained by all stake holders after returning all the books while leaving or end of acedamic year.

Remote Access from University Library

At present, the Library offers following services

Lending facility: A student can borrow one book at a time for fifteen days, which are further renewable for fifteen days. The lending section functions from 10.30 A.M. to 4.30 P.M.

Reading Room: The central library has reading room facility for the students. Students can consult text books, reference books and periodicals sitting in the library reading room. The reading room remains open from 10.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. Night Time 7.30 P.M. to 10.30 A.M.

Reference Service: Reference enquiries are answered and user help are provided through literature search. users are also assisted to search information through Internet.

Online E-Resources: Library is having access to plenty of electronic journals, e-books, databases through INFLIBNET NLIST e-journal consortium. Faculties can access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publisher’s website through their unique user name and password.

Library website: Library website is linked to various freely available online information sources. Faculties and students can browse and access the information sources by directly clicking on the link.

Orientation Program:  Library organizes orientation programs for the 1st year students to create awareness about library sources and services.

OPAC Service: The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) can be used to search the holdings of the library during library hours. The collection of the library is available online through the OPAC facility of the LIBMAN library automation software. Books can be searched using different search options like Title, Author, Subject, ISBN or Call number.

CAS: Current Awareness Service (CAS) keeps the members of the Library well-informed and up-to-date in recently published literature in their fields of specialization. The Library use ‘Notice Board’ and ‘Website’ for this purpose. In notice board, library displays the list of newly acquired books.

Internet and Wi-Fi Service: Library has Broadband connection for accessing Internet. Faculties can browse Internet and Wi-Fi Services from library portals, laptops and mobile devices.

Syllabus & Previous Year Question Paper: The question papers for various courses are available in the Reference section of the Library for consultation of students. The users may also get previous year question papers of University examination for reference.
